Scholarships for State Games
New Mexico Senior Olympics was able to financially assist several Athletes to attend State Games. This is always a privilege and an important function of the organization. In 2003 NMSO provided $1,760 in scholarships. These varied in amount anywhere from $45.00 to $205.00.
Sport Advisory Committee
The committee will tackle a new Team Sport later this fall. If you would like to volunteer as an athlete, coach or official please call the Mandy Owens at the office: (505)-623-5777.
Race for the Cure
NMSO sponsored two teams of Albuquerque Area women in this Fund Raiser for the fight against Breast Cancer.
We would like to thank Sharon Jenson and Norma Houston-Pyeatt who organized the project and all those local volunteers that braved the crowds and gave of their time to participate.
Glorieta
Senior Olympics was able to take an active role this year by providing presenters, activities and VISTA program experts. We always find it a privilege to contribute to the conference sponsored by the Department of Aging and Long Term Care.
