RECRUITING
New Mexico Senior Olympics is looking for self-motivated self-starters who have a passion for seniors and their health and fitness issues. We are recruiting Senior Olympic VISTA Volunteer Health Promotion positions statewide. This is a 40 hour per week volunteer opportunity to give back to your community by identifying senior health and fitness needs. The Health Promotion VISTA will network with and recruit community leaders, physicians, recreation leaders, and fitness instructors to address those needs. NEW VISTAS
New Mexico Senior Olympics welcomes Sandra Rogers of Valencia County and Paul Bason of Quay County to the VISTA Health Promotion team. Sandra comes to us with experience as a Tap and Belly Dance volunteer instructor in the community. She will serve as the new Senior Olympic Local Coordinator for Valencia County. Paul has worked along side former VISTA Betty Bason in various local Senior Olympic activities including recruitment, event planning, year-round activities, and promotion. His goal is to increase the number of new Senior Olympic athletes for Quay Co. Local Games.
OUT-GOING VISTA
New Mexico Senior Olympics would like to say farewell and thank you to Howard Albertsen of Santa Fe. Howard ends his VISTA term of service in February. Howard taught exercise classes in senior centers throughout Santa Fe County. He also assisted the Local Senior Olympic Board with Senior Olympic promotion and recruitment. Good luck, Howard, in your future endeavors.
